What is Netiquette?
Netiquette is the code of acceptable behaviors users should follow while on the Internet.

1. In e-mail, chat rooms, and newsgroup :

• Keep messages brief.
• Be careful when using sarcasm and humor, as it might be misinterpreted.
• Be polite. Avoid offensive language.
• Read the message before you send it.
• Avoid sending or posting flames.
• Avoid sending spam.

Do not use all CAPITAL LETTERS, which is the equivalent of SHOUTING!

Use emoticons to express emotion.

:) or :] Smile
:D or XD Laughing
:( or :c Frown
:'( Crying
:| Indifference
:\ Undecided
:o Surprised

Use abbreviations and acronyms for phrases :

fyi for your information
ttfn ta ta for now
fwiw for what it's worth
tyvm thank you very much

2. Read the FAQ (frequently asked question), if one exists.

3. Do not assume material is accurate or up-to- date.

4. Never read someone's private e-mail.
